Although starting your own skincare range with PLSC is easy, we understand that a lot of thought goes into bringing your own skincare range to life. To help you better understand the process of working with PLSC, and how you can begin to bring your vision and brand to life, we’ve compiled a list of frequently asked questions.
What does the pricing listed in the catalogue include?
Our pricing includes the product, the packaging & GST. The pricing excludes label design, label printing and freight.
Are there any hidden fees?
No, we are very upfront about what is and isn’t included in our prices. The amount you pay at the checkout includes your products & GST*. We can print labels for you at $1 per label. Shipping is a flat rate of $14.95. Outside of this, you are required to have your labels designed if you wish, although we do provide free label templates for you to use. That’s all! If you wish to use your own packaging and caps, this will of course incur an extra fee on your end.
*(GST is included for Australian clients, however this is not included for International clients)
Is your packaging recyclable?
All our packaging is recyclable. The caps and fittings do need to be removed before recycling.
Can I supply my own packaging for you to fill?
Yes, if you order over 200 items of the same product, you can send your packaging to our lab and we will fill it for you.
Do your products come with boxes?
No, our products don’t include boxes
Are you Certified Organic?
We choose to use certified ingredients where possible, but we are not and don't claim to be certified organic.
Do you offer drop shipping?
No, we don’t.
Do you export your products overseas?
We can ship our products to the United Kingdom, United States, Canada, Hong Kong & New Zealand & Singapore only.
Do you help your Australian brands to export their products overseas?
Private Label Skin Care will supply all COA (Certificate of Analysis) and SDS (Safety Data Sheets) certificates free of charge, both of which may be required when exporting your products into different countries. We don't however complete any paperwork on your behalf.
What is your refund policy?
If products are faulty or damaged, we will replace your items straight away. Please contact us as soon as possible (Within 48 hours of receiving the item) with a photograph of the fault.
We do not offer refunds due to change of mind. However if we do offer a refund there will be a 5% restocking fee which covers Shopify fees and administration costs. AfterPay and ZipPay will incur a 10% restocking fee.
We do not offer refunds on digital products.
What is the shelf life of the products?
Our shelf life ranges from 12-24 months from date of purchase. Shelf life is mentioned on each product page.
Do you design my labels for me?
We don’t offer graphic design support for labels, but we have designed three free label templates for you to use (they come complete with all the legal labeling requirements built into them!). All you have to do is add your logo, and any other modifications you choose such as brand colours, product name, and any other elements you wish to customise. You can access these label templates on each product page in our Label Information catalogue. Alternatively, we suggest the team at Long Story Short Design for all your label design needs.
Will you apply my labels to my packaging if I send them to you?
No, this isn't a service we offer. In saying that it's very quick and easy to do on your end!
I’ve tried your samples (which I love!) but am still unsure which products to include in my range. HELP!
Can I buy samples in bulk from you to provide to my customers?
We do provide branded samples as part of our Biz in a Box bundle which you can find here.
Outside of this bundle, we only supply samples for prospective PLSC brands to sample, not for them to sell on to their customers. You can easily create your own samples though! We have created this handy and easy to follow resource that shows you how.
I’m worried about people finding out that I use a private labeling company. Is my anonymity ensured when I work with PLSC?
PLSC will never reveal your identity or give your details to a third party. As well as this, all PLSC staff are made to sign confidentiality agreements. Your anonymity is of utmost importance to us and we do everything within our power to maintain it.
Can I see some of your brands?
Due to confidentiality we cannot disclose any of our brands.
I don’t have any business experience. Can I still run a successful skincare business?
While it does help, as long as you’re willing to learn then no, you don’t need any business experience to succeed. The great thing about PLSC is that we provide you with a high quality product (which is key when running a successful business!), you just need to learn how to market it effectively. Do I need to get my own insurance when I create a skincare range with PLSC?
Yes, we suggest that you source product and public liability insurance.
Why would I choose to private label, rather than creating my own skincare products?
There’s so many reasons why private labelling is a better option! We wrote an entire article about it which you can read here.
Are PLSC products TGA approved?
TGA approval is not required for PLSC products as we do not claim that they are therapeutic, curative, preventative, etc.
What are the turnaround times?
Samples: 1 to 3 days plus shipping time
10-200 units per product: 1 to 14 days plus shipping time
Salon Professional Products: 1 to 14 days plus shipping time
Bulk Products: 1 to 14 days plus shipping time
Please note that, if you are supplying your own packaging for us to fill, these turnaround times will not begin being calculated until your packaging arrives at our lab.
